I am an experienced and dedicated educator who is passionate about promoting equity and justice in education.

  • I aim to sustain the integrity, courage, and commitment of children, families, and service providers.

  • My vocation is dedicated to the art and skill of facilitation, and my first priority is providing meaningful learning experiences that honor the dignity of participants.

  • I’ve worked extensively with historically marginalized communities, using approaches rooted in humanizing and historicizing practices to empower learners and promote healing, joy, justice, and liberation.

  • My expertise is in a range of areas, including carceral studies, culturally responsive pedagogy, ethnic studies, experiential education, family engagement, implementation science, Indigenous epistemology, juvenile justice reform, Latinx bilingual leadership, MTSS, near-peer mentorship, policy analysis, program evaluation, student empowerment, and trauma-informed systems.

  • I designed the Equity Audit Window, an interdisciplinary framework that organizations can use to map their equity journey, and currently lead the Equity Institute, which provides training and support to education, government, and nonprofit organizations seeking to promote racial healing, cross-racial solidarity, and intersectional social justice.

  • I am involved in a range of other initiatives, including serving as a board member of New Freedom WA, leading a men's healing circle through Rethink Manhood, and serving on the advisory board of Central Washington University's CAMP/HEP program. With a strong background in implementing Trauma-Informed MTSS, I am committed to working with historically marginalized communities to promote equity and empowerment.
